Aeraing Your Greenville Lawn

By in Landscaping

Greenville LandscaperCustomers ask ask us a lot of questions on things they can do to improve their lawn or what they are doing wrong. One of the great things that is inexpensive and very effective is lawn aeration.

So what is aeration? Essentially it is the process of punching small holes into the top soil a few inches deep.

The reason we, and other Greenville landscapers suggest this is because as time goes by, the topsoil becomes compressed and hard, which doesn’t allow your lawns roots to absorb the necessary oxygen and water that it needs (especially in the hotter summer months).

In times of low rainfall, the soil becomes especially compacted, so even the small amounts of water your Greenville lawn may be receiving might not be making it down into the root system properly or in some cases at all.

In areas of high traffic, where you may be walking through a lot, and even from larger pets, you are very susceptible to to soil compression.

So, how do we solve this? Aeration!

The best time to aerate your lawn is typically in the spring and fall and should be done at least once a year. With the summer months coming to a close, this is something that you should be considering.

We would be more than happy to take care of your aeration and any of your Greenville and Spartanburg area landscaping needs!

Lawn aeration also helps in regards to water conservation during these hot summer months, so it is a highly recommended landscaping tactic.
