Preparing Your Greenville Landscaping for Your Vacation

By in Landscaping

The last thing you probably want to think about while you’re on vacation is your landscaping at home, but even worse than worrying about your responsibilities at home while your on vacation is it come home and have your landscaping ruined.

But don’t worry, there’s a number of things you can do before you leave for vacation to ensure that your yard will stay green and healthy.

One option, of course, would be to hire a Greenville landscaper to maintain your landscaping for you while you are out of town.

There are also a number of things you can do yourself to maintain your landscaping while you’re on vacation.

First you are going to want to treat any weeds that may be growing in the lawn. If you leave them while you are gone, they are going to continue to grow and create an even bigger problem for you when you return.

Mow your lawn a bit shorter than normal and give it more water than you would usually. Be careful not to mow too short or water too much as it can end up causing problems.

If you have a sprinkler system you don’t need to worry quite as much about extra watering, but make sure that your timer is set correctly and pay attention to the weather forecast as well.

You’re not going to want to fertilize, de-thatch or aerate you lawn before leaving for your trip; you don’t need any extra growth while you are out of town and after any of these, you are going to need to monitor the lawn carefully, so wait until you get back.
