Properly Utilizing Hardscaping in Your Yard

By in Landscaping

Let’s first understand what hardscaping is: basically, hardscaping is anything done to the exterior of the home other than plant and garden. So this would be your patio, fence, walkways etc.

But it’s very important to understand that hardscaping is not just something to be thrown together. Hardscaping should be given time a special care when being installed if you want to get everything out of it possible.

For example, with brick pavers, you need to know that you cant just put them down in the dirt and leave them be.

Most brick patio pavers need somewhere around 4 inches of sand base under the stones in order to provide a cushion between the ground and bricks and prevents the stones from becoming unleveled.

If proper care is put into the paver patio, you should be able to get about 30 years out of the patio, almost double what you would expect out of a poured concrete slab.

Aside from the patio, you should also be sure that your Greenville walkways are in the right spot, installed correctly and are actually being used.

A walkway can help prevent those brown areas in your lawn from being travelled on too much, while giving your home more character at the same time. A walkway put in the right spot can greatly help your landscaping and overall look of the home.

Finally, you want to make sure that you are getting the most out of your fence. Do you want it to keep animals and pests out? Is it for privacy?

Whatever your reason, be sure that you are getting all you can out of it. Landscaper Greenville can help you with any of your hardscaping needs.
