Seed or Sod?

By in Landscaping

Landscaper GreenvilleA question asked to many Greenville and Spartanburg landscapers is: “which is better, seed or sod?”

With either one, you can ultimately end up with the same end result. So, why does it matter? Basically what it comes down to is the amount of time and money that you have available for the new lawn installation.

Seed is generally cheaper than sod, but will take much longer to reach a final result, while sod you can simply roll out and have a brand new lawn in a day. So again, if time is a concern, sod may be your best option, but if you are more worried about pricing, seed will probably be your best bet.

There are a number of Greenville and Spartanburg landscapers that carry both products and can also both install or have the grass shipped to your home. If you are not comfortable with installing your own lawn, we would be more than happy to install your lawn for you.

Seed will typically take about 3 months to grow and aside from being cheaper, can be installed, if done correctly, more efficiently in harder to reach areas such as inclines and there are many more options for grass seed than there is for sod.
